• Question: When you take stem cell out of the embryo does the embryo die?

      Hi Harrydacob,

      Yes, when you remove the stem cells the embryo does die as it need the stem cells in order to grow and divide further .The only cells that are left are the ones that would normally go on to form the placenta. Scientists are working on ways to only take a few of the cells and leave the rest so the embryos survive, this seems to me to be a really good thing to do but lots of work needs to be done to make sure that the resulting embryo is going to be healthy!
