      Hi Holly,
Science, in particular biology were my best and favourite subjects at school so thats why I decided to continue to study science at university. I also had a really great biology teacher who encouraged me! I’m really glad I did as I love being a scientist!

Sometimes i do wonder that!!!!!!!! Especially on stressful days 🙂

I was lucky enough to spend a year working at a lab in Germany as part of my degree, looking at lung disease. I didnt want to go at first because i thought id hate lab work, but i went, and within about 15 minutes i realised i loved it!

Are you thinking of a career in science or do you think we are all mad?! 😉

Hi Holly, science is great fun and there’re always surprises – everyday is different! I hate routines so it suits me perfectly. I trained as a doctor and I decided that I wanted to really get involved in stem cell research because I think that’s the next big thing to help our patients, and after I finish my PhD in a couple of years, I hope to be able to bring what I’ve learnt to help my patients.

Hi Hollyr – I think it was a mix of things – I really enjoyed maths and science at school so that sort of pushed me down the science route. But I was also good at English and Christian Theology, I liked debating different sides of an argument. So I think I went into science because I like to learn about new things and I specialise in the ethical, legal and social implications of science because I like to look at lots of different views – I got the best of both worlds really!
