      Hey,
Biology and chemistry were my best subjects at school and I had a really great biology teacher who really got me excited about science. I originally thought about becoming a dentist, but after some work experience in a lab, I decided that research was what I wanted to do.
Iā€™m really glad as I love what I do!
My motivation comes from a desire to help people with illness and disease and I hope that I can make a difference, even if it a very small contribution!!!

      Hi there,
I wanted to do research because when I was a surgeon, I looked after a lot of people with poorly healing wounds – often people who have nasty breaks of their legs – some of these need to have their legs chopped off, and I thought there MUST be a better way of helping these people. I believe that stem cells can help us here so I wanted to be a part of this research to help all future patients. So far, my group has found out how to make bones heal quicker in mice, so we want to see if we can help real people next! It’s pretty exciting stuff.
