      Hello!
The most exciting thing I’ve done was to create the embryo from an egg that was arrested (not progressing normally) and make manchester’s first stem cell line. The line is called RCMAN-1.
It was the first time I’d ever done something as big as this, and was really nerve-wracking waiting to see if it had worked!

      Oooh that’s a toughie!

I’d have to say traveling all over the world to present at conferences. Highlights have been staying at a castle in Austria and hanging out in San Diego in shorts in December 🙂

Giving presentations is scary, but it gives you such a buzz afterwards. We always make sure we stay on in the place we are visiting to explore and make the most of the trip! It’s great when you go as a group of friends, we have so much fun and there is normally a social program to enjoy in the evening 😉

The most exciting was when we found out a way of speeding up fracture healing in mice. We found a chemical that can make broken bone in mice heal much faster if we injected it soon after the break. We now hope to try this in humans!
