      Multipotent stem cells are able to form multiple (ie multi-as the name suggests) mature (adult) cell types that will make up an entire tissue or tissues. For example: haematopoietic (blood) stem cells are multi-potent as they can give rise to all the different types of cells that constitute our blood.
