      Hi Hatem,
Great to hear you enjoyed it. The reason I did medicine was that I liked science and I wanted to help people. Medicine is great because you can directly apply your scientific knowledge into making a difference in people’s lives. Also, I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted to do, like most people, and medicine has so many options within it, I was fairly sure I’d find a fit in there somewhere. It happened to be surgery, but along the way, I wanted to be a cardiologist, then an A&E doctor, then a full time research scientist. I have no regrets, and nor have my friends who did something else after they became doctors like bankers or management consultants or lawyers. I think it’s a great degree to have and it’s fun! Medics tend to be a fun lot who have lots of interests outside work and learning to deal with patients gives you a really great adrenaline rush!! If you’re willing to work hard and play hard, then Medicine’s for you!
