      Hey podgii,
I like to think i have been a scientist my whole life as I have always been interested in how things grow and develop, but I guess I have been a “real scientist” since I got my first proper scientific job at the University of Bath, which was 13 years ago!

      Hi Podgill

I’ve been paid to do my job as a scientist for a year and a half, but before that I spent 3 years doing my PhD in pregnancy research and before that 4 years as an undergraduate doing my degree, including a year working for a pharmaceutical company in Germany. So all in all it’s really been nearly 9 years 🙂

I’ve been interested in since I was a little kid, curious about the world around me. Technically speaking, I’ve been a science since I graduated from University in 1996 with a degree in biology and chemistry. Since then, I’ve taught high school biology and chemistry, earned my Ph.D. and completed a research fellowship.

hmm. depends on what you mean by ‘being a scientist’.
I’ve been doing research full time for a year and a half, but before that, I studied science in medical school and have done various research projects.
I think it’s always young and daring people who push the research forward because you guys have ideas that the more disciplined people might think are crazy! Without crazy ideas, we will not make much progress!

I went to University in 2003 – and never left! So I guess you could say since then.
