      HI Beccatyler,
I don’t think there is any proven way of making hair grow quicker but I do know that your hair will grow as well as it can and as healthy as it can if your body is healthy, so making sure you eat a diet rich in vitamin B12, calcium, iron and zinc will help your hair healthier. These things ar found in fresh fish, eggs, cheese, lentils, brazil nuts amongst other things and as well as your hair, they will also make your nails nice and healthy too!

It’s been said that getting your hair trimmed regularly helps it grow, but I’m not sure I believe this!!!!

That’s a really interesting question and the only answer I have is the old wives tale to have it trimmed regularly! That has no biological basis at all! Something would have to be done to encourage growth at the root, in the hair follicle itself. Hair grows in cycles and the stage in which hair lengthening actually occurs is called anagen. This is when cells in the root divide alot and add to the hair shaft. It is this process that would have to be speeded up or increased to get hair to grow linger quicker. Lots of research has been done to understand how this process is controlled as it obviously has huge commercial value, but I’m afraid no one has got there yet!
