• Question: don't you feel that somedays seeming as you are not built around lab work that you don't achieve as much as you could? whereas there are other contestants who work in a lab every day with much more of an agenda?

Hi imogenj, I think that’s a good question and one I often get asked. I don’t feel that I do less work because I don’t work in the lab – in fact I think I have to do more because none of my time is taken up waiting for experiments and things to finish.
I also have to do things like transcribing interviews – which is listening to a recording and typing down everything that is said – which takes a long time and is like my lab work.
So I don’t think I can give you a good answer, just that our two types of work are very different but I don’t think one type achieves any more than the other.
I hope that answered your question.
