• Question: Could we use stem cell research to make our eyes glow in the dark? :D

      Commando! Wow, I never thought about that one, but that sounds pretty cool.I think you could theoretically do it but it wouldn’t last very long! You could get the cells on the top layer of your cornea to express fluorescent proteins that glow in the dark, but then, eventually these cells will be replaced by the body’s own cells that can’t glow in the dark… but still, having glowing eyes for a couple nights would be pretty awesome!

      Yes, it’s theoretically possible to insert a stem cells containing fluorescent gene into someones eyes which would make the eyes glow in the dark. I’m not sure how useful it would be so its unlikely to be done in the future, but you never know!
      It would be great for fancy dress parties!!
